.22LR gatlin gun, or mini-gun
has anyone seen the gatling kit for 10-22 barrels? does anyone have it? I always wanted to try to make a functional hand crank mini-gun in 22lr

about 9 years ago, a friend and I made five of these:
http://www.bwefirearms.com/gatling.html sold them all for $around $3K saw one of them a few weeks ago at a local range, still getting hammered, guy remembered me and claimed he had over 2 million rds run through it to date...he ran over 5Krds that day. his kids were loving the hand crank.

why did you sell them for 3K when the site sells them for 9,000?
for the one that uses the 10-22 barrels, what else is needed besides the kit from cabelas?

Years and years ago, tippmann made the "hell hound". A little buggy with a "grenade" launcher and 10 bbl gatling powered by a cordless drill. ![]() I've always wanted to build it's twin. Collected two barrels so far.

Tippman paintball stuff is from the same company IIRC, from or around
Ft Wayne IN. I think they did miniatures of various old machine guns, and made some full auto. The buggy, the miniatures, the guys must have had a lot of fun working there! Last edited by Protecsafari; 02-25-2009 at 02:20 PM. |

Before 1986 MG ban Tippman made miniature MGs. After the ban they reinvented themselves as a paintball company.

did the search and got this so I didnt start a new thread. Just got done watching my DVR'd Sons of Guns from last night and the 2nd episode had a remotely operated aiming platform using an AR of all choices. One of the most prone to failure to fire of the modern popular weapons. Why not use an electric minigun that way when a malfunction happens, it would be cleared and the next fire. They only needed it for cover fire so a .22LR would be enough to keep people down yet minimize civilian casualties due to shoot thru and ricochet. I have always thought if I had a choice of any MG I could have made then it would be a mini version of the 5.56 mingun firing .22 LR.

not the same as a minigun. cyclic rate is not even close and firing would cease when a malfunction/dud happens
