Federal Spitfire .22 ammo
Anyone have any experience with it? I've been struggling a bit with the Spikes .22 AR conversion kit as of late. I have tuned the recoil spring in fairly well and polished the slide and the internals including the feed ramp. I suspect it will run the way it shoud now - but due to a recent mountain bike mishap - I haven't been out to the range to test it.
When I was manually feeding the Spitfires into the chamber - I noticed that several wouldn't drop in freely. Most did - however 1 out of 20 or so wouldn't... almost as if the case was bulged. I have saved the rounds that I had issues with from the range - and now am going through the others in the box to see what's up... I thought these were decent rounds... now I'm thinking otherwise. Anyone have experience with them or any other plated .22 ammo that has worked well for you? |

Put a caliper on them to see what the problem is - obviously too fat.
