Shipping pistol for Warranty work - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Trying to ship a pistol for warranty work back to Taurus and I remember something about shipping pistols direct for warranty work and it being returned direct w/o a FFL. Is this correct or can someone point me in the right direction to double check. Taurus states common courier but the UPS store wouldn't ship as they (UPS Store) told me UPS did not deliver to Taurus (WTF?, street address no PO box).

go to the UPS shipping counter.

Correct, return from manufacturer direct to you w/o ffl.

The only place I found was Fed-ex, and it had to be overnight (or some other higher rate).

I shipped the pistol to Ruger.
I came home one day and the repaired pistol was lying on my door step in a fed ex box.

Yep. You already own it.

You can ship it to yourself or to any service provider and they can ship it back to you.

You cannot transfer ownership (outside of your state and it's laws) without an FFL.

UPS stores are not UPS . Do not use them for anything because your claim will be denied.

I shipped a Springfield XD back to them trough Fed Ex , finish was jacked up and they said they would cover it . Paid for insurance and shipped whole weapon to them , price was around $68.00 . They covered that price with a check back to me covering shipping . When it arrived back to me it was in a decent case and all parts were re - finished with new pins and all metal parts looked brand new ! No issue with shipping a whole weapon here in Tn. , this weapon was an xd - 357 w/ ported barrel and slide that was bought used . I will continue to be a faithful Springfield owner from now own due to excellent customer service .
