TAC Powder for 223 ,308

Just tried some TAC powder today since it was cheaper than Varget.

77 SMK , 23.1 grains of TAC, Federal primers 2720 avg velocity

vs the same load in 23.5 grains of varget ,2750 velocity. Both in Winchester cases.

Same load in Varget but LC nato brass velocity was 2800 but FLAT primers and pressure signs!!!!!

Accuracy was about the same for the groups I shot.

308
I contacted TAC and they gave me some starting values for a 110 grain bullet.

110 grain Sierra Varminter , 45 grains TAC and Winchester LRM primers gave avg velocity of 2900 fps.

I tried 46 grains, but since these are Magnum primers, it was showing pressure signs. FLAT primers, shiny spot on ejector area and 3000 FPS.
I tried in vain all morning to find regular Large Rifle primers but could not, so I dropped the starting point a full grain...

This was in a FAL and groups were about 3 inches. Nothing special but would love to shoot a ground hog or yote with a 110 hollowpoint going about 3000 fps!

There are a couple of ARwhores around this area that are in love with Ramshot TAC.

Seems like a good powder.
