I picked up a couple stag lowers and have been thinking about building them as pistols. I've got some prices from Pete on the uppers but not sure if I'm going about this correctly.
I was planning on building them the same. I was planning on a 7" DS upper, pros or cons on going this short. Also in the future, I may like to make one an sbr, is their any possible implications on have two very similar guns/ pistol and only having one tax stamped.

I think the lower has to be a pistol lower in order to make an AR pistol out of it. I could be wrong though.

as long as it is a "virgin" receiver. I'm good since no stock has been installed, it isn't considered a rifle yet.

Probably. Unless you live in Ca, in which case it "should" be DROS'ed as a pistol, not long gun.

Do you know how they were transfered to you?
A year or more ago the 4473 was changed to include Receiver as an option.
So if they were a recent purchase theyshould have been trasnfered as a receiver and you can "build" them as you wish.

Bought them locally yesterday and transfer as receiver
