AR 2-stage triggers
I have been having a lot of problems with my CMMG 2-stage trigger lately. The Bolt carrier is not resetting the trigger after each shot. Anyways after fucking with it for 2 weeks, I called CMMG and they said there was a defective batch, and to send it back. Since they don't have any in stock, and won't until later this year, they are going to refund me the retail price, and give me a $50 gift certificated. So I need another 2-stage for this build. Anyone have one they HATE with a passion? Are all they all the same? I had a Bushmaster/Compass Lake adjustable 2-stage, and didn't like it at all.

The Rock River Arms unit seems to be the best value, it's less complicated and no adjustment screws to worry about.
The drop in units like the Chip McCormick and such are neat, but more expensive. |

It's good that CMMG gave you a refund + $50, but if I were the CMMG rep, I'd at least sent you a plain Jane AR trigger group to at least get you functioning again till you get another 2 stage trigger.

I have both a Geissele DMR and a Super Semi Auto. The DMR, once adjusted, is beyond comparison. The SSA just drops in and is a lot cheaper, though. For most people who absolutely hate the mil-spec trigger, I would recommend the SSA. For target or varmint use, I would go with the DMR again assuming you don't mind spending the cash.

Ge4iselle are top of the line with a price to match. Worth the price, but expensive.
RRAs are good. Never had an issue

I went with a JP enterprises unit at the recommendation of a bunch of 3-gun nuts. It lasts longer than many of the other unit, apparently.
When you put 10-15k downrange in a year, a Gieselle develops issues (doubling, just plain worn out) in about 18-24 months. None of them have killed their JPs yet. The JP 4-lb tactical is a very nice unit. It's not super-crazy-light, just what the GI unit *should* be. They make a 2-ish pound one, but I wanted something a little heavier. Oddly enough for a pistol guy, I really don't like the feel of the 2-stage triggers. Weird - I know.
