My... what a big firing pin...
Here's a WTF? I came across a few of these in my last batch of .45ACP range pickups. The firing pin dent is almost as big as the LP primer.
![]() What sort of weapon has that sort of firing pin? The dent is deep and flat at the bottom.

Without seeing the firearm, I would agree with DOC. Possibly to heavy a firing pin spring. Too long pin for sure though.

Based on the diameter of the indent my bet would be the firing pin hole has enlarged, so that more of the pin is getting through, not just the pin is too long.

Looks OK to me...
(Now you know why I shoot at 10 yds! )You have no idea how many pictures I had to take to get THAT. Damn cheap camera kept trying to auto focus on something else when I clicked the button.

Most digi cams have a little flower symbol that you can turn a knob to get to, or select somewhere. This is a Macro setting for taking super up close pics. Try that.

I had a look at some stuff today that give me a different theory. I bet if you actually took a good picture of that case you would see that the pin hole is the right size but that case was so overpressure that it started to pull the rest of the primer in around the pin.
