It's a nice conversation piece, but I see the .50 GI as a pretty pointless cartridge. ]
I just don't understand it. If you want more bang than a .45 go with a 10mm. If you really want to throw out some power in a semi-auto, get a .50 AE. Last edited by east_beast; 05-05-2010 at 10:13 AM. |

I put a few mags though one. Feels about like a 230 +p really.
Weird thing is the case - .50 dia with a 45 rim, so the breechface and extractor aren't changed. Looks really odd.

According to wiki it's faster than .45.

Ok, so Glocks are having issues firing open breach, so what's gonna happen when the .50 explodes in your hands? And don't say it doesn't happen, a friend on security at JSC had one go up the other day.

The .50 ae has a rebated rim also, but not that severe.

Small Arms Review did a write up on the Glock Conversion and didn't like it and had problems with the slide I think wearing out a chunk in less than 200 rounds. They just did a review on the .50 version of the 1911 style and gave it a good review.
