AK underfolder parts kit, good deal?
Looking at this
https://www.apexgunparts.com/product...roducts_id/850 at $229 it's more than I think a parts kit should be, but it is the underfolder which gets me hard, and it comes with the barrel. Do it, or no? If no, where would you go? Maybe here, and locate the barrel and end plate elsewhere? https://www.apexgunparts.com/product...oducts_id/1463 Or spend an extra $20 and get a numbers matching? https://www.apexgunparts.com/product...roducts_id/849 Obviously, I know I need a receiver, I'll be picking up an 80% somewhere.

The non-matching 64 kit is going to be a challenge, unless you get extremely lucky and get a bolt that headspaces with your parts. Otherwise you'll have to start trying different bolts, since there's no real easy way to headspace an M64 kit. Barrels on those kits thread in, instead of pressing into the receiver.
The bulgarian's not a bad deal if you can source a barrel for cheap. Good luck on that. The M70 is probably going to be the best bet if the kit comes with numbers-matching parts. You'll have what you need to complete a re-weld or swap everything over to a new receiver. Just understand that any yugo barrel bore is going to be dark, have possibly little to no rifling left, and will probably need a new crown. Unless you get lucky...

Are you wanting to build a stamped or a milled gun?
I'd skip the M64 unless you REALLY want that model, the barrel will have to be replaced anyways, most milled receivers (unless you use a repair plate) require a pressed in barrel. |

There are threaded receivers out there. But they're definitely not as common.
Personally, if it was me, I'd go with this: https://www.apexgunparts.com/product...oducts_id/1504 A bit more expensive, but a much nicer kit, and you're not going to end up with a junk barrel. I have enough Yugo AKs, so I don't think I'll be getting one ...unless maybe it was an AB2 model... don't have any of those yet...

I was going to, but I couldn't get the volume to make to price cheap enough.

Look in the repair plate thread. I put some info for a guy in N.Louisiana selling them.

Yes
See the thread I bumped. It looks like the options are vzX8, wiselite, and the guy rockmup mentioned. That is unless a PBB member is milling these in production yet..... I think everyone with a mill has the prints now judging by all the talk in the other thread. |

Doing a weld-up milled Ak is going to be harder then a flat kit.
FWIW these are awesome. Flat out awesome kits, build into sweet rifles. https://www.apexgunparts.com/product...oducts_id/1209

Very true. I built one recently with an AK builder flat and it came out great. Got a few more in the box just waiting on me to get some spare time...

Flats are much easier for a novice to build. If you bought a milled kit, I would seriously consider having someone mill down the stubs to fit into a flat.
