Pfft, don't listen to these guys. You're right, it's only a non-magical 15 that separates the two. I wouldn't let that stop me. I'm sure if you look around you can find one that will shoot both just fine.

I'm guessing the OP has never seen a 7.62x39 next to a 7.62x54r cartridge...

Dumb question: what guns were the 5.45x39 and 7.62x54R commonly chambered for?

5.45x39: Polish, Bulgarian, and Russian AK-74 Saiga AR-15 uppers are also available. 7.62x54R: Mosin Nagant and all variants DP-28 PKM SVD PSL M-76 A new-production AK-47 clone chambered for 7.62x54r is now on the market And a few modern bolt-action hunting rifles are available as well. To name a few. There could be more, but that's just off the top of my head...

http://www.centerfiresystems.com/rifle-akfpk-plum.aspx I'm not sure if they have more any in stock. It was listed in their last flyer I got in the mail, but I didn't see it on the main section of their website.
