they sure have.
am i missing something about the wind direction? i had my wind call perfect on the first stage but exactly opposite. it gives a direction but i can't see anywhere that gives the direction the shooter is facing. judging by where the bullet is impacting, i am assuming the shooter is facing south.

The wind thing is pretty confusing, and I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't figure out the range calculations. I tried doing it using what I thought was the correct formula and was always hitting low. Tried using a number I knew was wrong, but got close, then could walk the shots to the target and get a hit within 3. Or maybe I'm just retarded and am doing it wrong, but I tried both MOA and MIL ranging calculations and always got the same results. I don't remember the old version, but I do remember that being posted on here at least once before.

I can do these range estimations in real life, but for some reason this thing is fucking with me. It won't let me input any changes in my turrets. How do you do that part?

So it sounds like this is useless as far as me learning how to actually get an idea how long range shooting calculations work.

Couldn't hit it with a bolt gun or my FAL.... But to be fair, I think it was more like 550 yards...

..but it feels like cheating. Can anyone give me a brief synopsis of how to use the mildots for ranging? Does this sum it up pretty well? http://www.snipercountry.com/articles/mildot_moa.asp "The mil-dot reticle was designed around the measurement unit of the milliradian. The dots, themselves, were designed with this in mind and the spacing of the dots was also based upon the milliradian. This allows the shooter to calculate the distance to an object of known height or width. Height of the target in yards divided by the height of the target in milliradians multiplied by 1000 equals the distance to the target in yards. For example, take a 6-foot-tall man (2 yards). Let's say that the top of his head lines up with one dot and his feet line up four dots down. So: (2/4)*1000 = 500 yards away. This same tecnique can be used to estimate lead on a moving target or to compensate for deflection on a windy day." Divide 2 yards-high target by number of dots times 1,000 So for a 2.1 dot high target: 2*1000/2.1 equals 952 yds Look at the range card, get 32.5 MOA. Run the scope up 32.5MOA/130 clicks. Drift is 7.8" at 950yd. 9mph wind. 7.8 x 9 = 70.2" Divide 70.2 by 3.438 gives wind drift in clicks. ![]() I'm not sure if I'm calculating wind correctly..but I'm hitting it! I'm not understanding why I should be getting drift in clicks and not minutes?

I got a 73 on my first go by basically just making a wild ass guess, slinging a round down range then adjusting to it.
I then followed up with an 87 on the second try basically by just being better at making adjustments after my WAG. |
