With griptape (skateboard tape), on the top of the slide, you can load a Glock one handed no problem.

You need to find that Magpul dynamics video where that one guy (Forgot his name, last name starts with a "C")
Well... in one of the videos I recall he demonstrates techniques that you could successfully use to take out a horde of zombies with one leg blow off, broken arm, missing eyeball and uneven trimmed sideburns... including shooting, reloading, clearing jams and cooking steaks. ![]() MIke.

If you need two hands to shoot... you suck... and you need to keep practicing.
My buddy is a Federal firearms trainer.. he really opened my eyes to the concept of actually having to defend your self weak-handed and one-handed. We were on the range in about the 5th hour of an 8 hour training day... He came up to me and literally tied my strong hand behind my back. Basically told me I just got my right shoulder blown off. Not just that my right arm (strong) was injured... it was GONE. I had to learn to to ALL of my manipulations weak-one-handed. It SUCKED. You can rack your slide in LOTS of places. Hook your rear sights on your belt, on your holster, on your jeans pocket. Kneel and hook your front or rear sights on your heel. Ambidextrous magazine release became VERY obvious. Shoot until lock back, drop your mag, stick it between your knees upside down, insert magazine, Tap it, rack it on your britches, and aim 17 more rounds down range. I'd stick with your G23 and you should be fine. Just learn how to defend yourself in all situations.

Glock makes an extended backplate that sticks out so it can be cocked on just about everything

kneel down, put the grip in your knee, pull on the slide, fabricate (have someone do it otherwise) or find an extension of the slide on one side like a very small soft hook you can push the gun against your body and make it catch on a belt or a pocket.
stop being lazy and figure it out for yourself. I've live with one hand for 20 years, if I can shoot a pistol with one hand so can your ass.

1911 as JMB designed it with no one piece spring guide, chamber empty, mag well empty.
Insert full mag into magwell. You can push back enough on the slide to strip a round from the mag and load. You can push back on the bottom front of the slide, right on the recoil spring plug. I had been told thats why the thing in checkered. I have done this with the old black leather issue holster, sure other types will work. You could have the hammer down on an empty chamber, fullmag in the magwell. Partially withdraw the pistol from the holster, then push back in and pull out quick, point at target and shoot.

i work in an armory, and more often i am issueing out multiple weapons at once and i have learned to multi task,....racking the slide on an M9 beretta is not a problem with one hand, either behind the back on the belt, or a table/flat surface.
however, im still trying to find a way to rack the m16 one handed.... im not that good..yet. |

If your M16 racks are stacked 2 high, you can also use the bottom lip of the base of the top rack. I have also done it by catching the handle on the lip of my front BDU pocket. Obviously this all works with the right hand, left handed could be difficult.
