Ammo can WTF?
Did "they" stop releasing/selling/giving away/float checking ammo cans in 2007 as the guy in the local surplus store said? $11 for a rusted to shit dented up can is nuts.
Anyone have a source for em locally?

100Dollarman on here sells 50 cal cans and I've seen him sell some 20mm stuff too. I don't know what he's got currently, but maybe worth contacting him.

Jon, there is a store in P-town right across from I C Norcom, the Armie Navie store. It's a decent little shop. If you call, tell them the nice boys from Franklin referred you.

Thanks guys. I still want to see that memo that "came out just 'for I retired in 07" that dais they had to be turned in to be refilled.
I wonder if he's talking about that memo that said no scrap brass was to be sold to reloaders?

We've got two pallets of 50cal cans sitting at the shop. After purchase/pickup from a gov't seller we've got ~$7 in each one. Condition ranges from beat to shit to decent. I'm selling them for $11 each.

I could use a few. 100dollarman is out of .50s, and his 20mm all are without lids.

I don't think I have ever "bought" one, they just kind of show up from time to time? Usually when I buy something else, and one is in the box, or in the back of a vehicle, etc.

We have hundreds that we save up in a shed until they are collected, smashed, and then taken away as trash. I have access to SAW, 30 cal, and 50 cal cans but have more than I need or want(mainly cans for linked 7.62). If someone is local we can barter for beer.

I used to love when ever the Marines would come onto an Army base and use the Ranges.
The Army is anal about 'dudage', ammo cans, bandoliers, stripper clips, etc. All of it must be counted and turned into the ASP at the end of the exercise. The Marines just dump it all at the dump. All of my cans are from swing by the dump in the afternoon when they were around.
