CAI Imbel price check.

I searched, but a lot of the threads were a few years old and didn't fit what I was looking for.

CAI Imbel. Brazillian made receiver (from the little research I've done I've seen that CAI occasionally used others).

A little scratched up, but not bad. Barrel looks short, maybe 18" (most that I saw for sale online were 20"). Marked 675.00, but I can likely get it for 625.00-650.00. Decent deal?

I'm not an FAL guy, I did a little research on FAL Files, but there is a ton of info there, more than I have time to read through in the next few days.

I was going to say 750-800.
675 is a good price on an Imbel

That's what I figured. They are on gunsamerica for around 1000.00 so I figured around 800.00. I'm going to stop and put a deposit on it today.

I won't deny that. Some of the other kits were starting to get scarce. I know there are a couple places where you can get all the parts for g3/hk91 clones, but the cetme's are about the only kits left out there. The RPD's are starting to disappear to. The cheap quality AK kits were gone before I really got into building guns. I'll get one some day soon.

*I do have a Saiga 12, so I'm halfway there.

Have bought 2 IMBEL receiver CAI FAL's, bought locally here in Alaska, both are complete with extras, one was $700-HB Izzy, one $750 SB, both are "widows peak" style feed ramps and feed great. Good Luck with yours!

Looks a lot like mine with the exception of plastic instead of wood. They're fun to shoot, but I wish I'd bought more milsurp ammo when it was everywhere.

Mine shoots great. I've put 150 rounds or so through it without issue.

Spork,
I never saw you posted pics to this.

Thats an Inch pattern gun. IMO thats worth a little more than the metric pattern. You got your self a very good deal there.

Pop off the barrel, get it threaded. Install an L1A1 flash hider, than get your self some L1A1 wood and you have a real beut of a rifle.

I think I'm going to start saving for a nice furniture set from ironwood designs.

I was looking at my receiver the other night, it's a bastard. It has the folding charging handle with cutout, appears to be an inch top cover, but definitely has a metric mag. catch.

mag catch can be swapped out. I have the wider one on my FALs.

Took this thing completely apart. Decided to blast and park everything. There are A LOT of fucking parts. Blasted and parked everything except the springs and chrome plated parts.
