Product Review: Magpul UBR
I finally got one in my hands. They are very nice. Extremely solid. Well made. Only negative is they weigh more than any stock assembly I've ever handled.
They come with a proprietary buffer tube that installs the same as a fixed A2 but uses the carbine buffer and buffer spring. The collapsable system works on a double detent track that is made of steel. The system has no wiggle and is more solid than the A2. It feels like shouldering a regular rifle or shotgun and not a regular AR. There is a way to set the stock with presets so that you don't have to remember what position you like to keep it in. The cheek rest area is very comfortable It also has two trap door compartments for holding a cleaning kit, batteries, etc. The stock also has two QD attach points for sling attachment. All in all, it is worth the higher cost. You won't be disappointed with it. I will be putting one on my personal preference build that I'm putting together.

very interesting. i was thinking about maybe getting rid of my AR-FX skeleton stock. this could compliment my DD lite rail i put on my increasingly bling-build.

I've been using the UBR stock for about a year or so. It's rock solid, comfortable, and easy to use. It is a heavy bastard though, but it helps to bias the weight to the rear of the rifle so it's easier to drive from target to target. Kinda like a conductors baton, the muzzle wants to float where you want it with little effort. Since I added the light on my floater tube it balances really well for me. If you can drop the dime on one I recommend it. I still want to try their ACS stock though to see how it feels balance wise and lighten up the rifle a bit.

I thought that it was Ergo? I traded for a rifle with the the Magpul M93 stock on it. It seemed like an overly complicated design. I sold the rifle to my buddy. All of my AR's have the Magpul CTR.

I have one on my 18" SPRish build. Like everyone has already said, it's heavy but solid as a freakin rock. I initially had an A2 stock on this rifle and it was too front heavy for my liking. The UBR has balanced it out nicely.
