Oil filter suppressor
Seems to do a pretty good job. When it wears out, just go get another filter.

Just need some tacticool extra tall sights or rings. Unless shooting in a general direction is good enough.

I imagine an AR with an optic like a ACOG on it would probably see above the filter.... im sure there are longer skinnier filters out there.... just gotta make a thread adapter.

Do you think that one of those filters would hold up to 5.56? How about .308?

Probably, I imagine the builder got one before he committed the $200 on a form 1.

Would be funny to see someone try this with a .308. As was said, it was done with a bottle adapter years ago. If you have the skills to machine the adapter on a form 1, then you could probably build a legit can.

I went to that companys site...
This seems a little fishy to me. They are marketing this as a cleaning device for your rifle. Looks like they will sell and ship the adapter to anyone with a credit card. No paperwork needed...uhg.... copy and paste from thier site below... Go green with the Cadiz Gun Works Solvent Trap for the AR 15 / M-16 Our patented solvent trap allows the use of a standard oil filter (PH-30 or Purolator 30005) to capture the solvent and oil splatter that results when running a brush through from the breech of your weapon. Threaded 1/2 by 28 to screw onto the muzzle of standard AR threading. Made from high strength aluminum to military specs and finished in flat black. Save time and money and help the enviornment by capturing and reclaiming those petromleum products.

One of the major silencer mfrs (I forget who), has their serial on the adapter. This allows for replacement of the baffle, shell, and end cap without having to jump through hoops if a component gets damaged, or needs service.

I don't know what is going on with that "green" adapter, but that definately is supressing the sound, and needs to be stamped. And Cadiz is not a fly by night op, at least, they've been around the block for a few years and HAVE to know better.

Which is why it was done years ago, and not in common use today. I can't imagine that this device would hold up to scrutiny.
