good price if it runs. if the bolt gap isn't right it could be a lot of work. some show up cheap because the bolt gap is way off. sometimes they can be fixed by simply using under/over sized rollers. if there isn't a roller that meets your need then you are forced to push the barrel pin out and press the barrel into or out of the trunnion in small increments which can be quite trying.

I'm building four right now. Two on PTR receivers and two on flats. Unlike FAL's and AR's, they don't go together like legos. And unlike AK's, they aren't very forgiving. They are a neat design in their simplicity however.

They are pretty hit and miss.
Some dont run to well due to being put together by monkies. I have one that has had zero problems with around 1000 rounds down the tube. It is honestly one of my favorite guns to shoot. I havent got a clue why either. i have some pretty fun, oddball stuff but i love that gun. Roll the dice.

That's exactly it. If it's used and at Bud's, it's probably a bad one. |

My century CETME has been 100% flawless, and is a damn accurate shooter. CAI's hit and miss for sure, but not all of them are bad.

When they first came out, there were a bunch around me. That lasted a couple years. Don't see them anywhere anymore, and don't know where they went. I still to this day haven't seen a functioning one. Not that they don't exist... just never seen one. Then again, haven't been looking too hard either.
I used to put Century made firearms (not imported, made) in the same group as EAA Witness pistols. Interesting, but they better be dirt cheap for me to bother with. For instance, a CETME would have to be <$300 for me to consider fooling with, and even then. After this last go round with a Golani, no more Century for me. It isn't worth the trouble. Their stuff is hack. How have they not blown anybody's face off yet? |

?
Sort of off topic, but since it drifted to Century and garbage. Totally different weapons system, but the Made in USA for Ca AK-type Centurion ?
Anyone have one shoot one or have an informed opinion on one ? Thanks !! ![]() http://www.impactguns.com/century-ar...-ri1622-n.aspx

I would be very hesitant over buying one sight unseen. I never carried Century AK's as an 01 for that reason, I figured I'd have a huge customer service problem on my hands and Century has to be the WORST company to work with. I do know that J&G will ask you to leave their booth at the gun show if you start checking headspacing and bolt gaps on CETME's though... |

I've also been looking at a CETME but along with alot of issues with fitment I want to reload 308 and these (HK91 93 types) screw the brass up pretty good. Springfield M14's at $1500 and the A10's are more then I'm looking to spend for a semiauto 308. I wish like hell I had kept my Polytech M14.
I've bought about 5 guns from CAI over the years and never had a problem. I'm sure that statement will curse my next buy from them.

I purchased a cetme at an auction. It is a century brand. I got lucky though. It shoots good and has been completely reliable. As some have said, the cetme murders the brass. I promptly added a port buffer to stop the dents in the brass. Very fun to shoot.
Finding a sight adjustment tool was challenging for a while. Eventually I did get my hands on one. At any rate, if you can find one that's a shooter, worth while addition to the collection. The one linked seems damn cheap.

Perhaps you should get them taxed to death to fund federal bolt checker places. |
