USA Ammo?
Anyone here shoot ammo manufactured by USA Ammo? Gearhog's (like Groupon for OSR) latest deal is a 50% off coupon for USA Ammo. I'm thinking about picking up a few rounds of their 5.56 to give it a try.
Edit: Here's a link to the 50% off deal if you decide to give it a try: http://www.gearhog.com/?rf=266097

I sell guns...

I've shot a bit of it as one of the local ranges sell it exclusively.
It went boom every time. I do remember their .380 had a bit more pop to it than the other stuff I had with me (PMC?). That may have been due to a heavier bullet in the USA Ammo.

Thanks, John. I'm going to try a few hundred rounds and see what happens.

Still waiting on mine. I have gotten an e-mail from them saying they were overwhelmed by the response to the Gearhog promotion and they're getting ammo shipped out as fast as possible.

Yup. I'd seen that. Fortunately, I didn't order any of their "remanufactured" ammo. Hopefully, their QC is better on the new-manufactured stuff.

I've been shooting their reman 9mm in competition for about 8 months now. Over 1k with zero issues. I've cleaned my pistol just once in that time, was barely dirty. I've also put several hundred rounds of their reman .223 downrange with zero issues. Both 55gr FMJ and 55gr NBT.
I buy more everytime one of their reps shows at a local gunshow. I have not been able to beat his prices on ammo anywhere. I've been paying slightly under their web prices and of course no delivery charge. It's funny though, usually there will be 2-3 guys at the gun show selling this ammo. 1 guy is way over USA Ammo's own web pricing,WTF? The guy I deal with is always a few $ under web pricing. Apparently the other USA Ammo distributers complained that my guy was not "playing fair"? I guess there could be some min pricing deal? But even at that it shouldn't be considerably higher than what it would cost me through USA Ammo delivered to my door. ![]() I pay $150 per 1000 115gr 9mm reman ![]() $25 per 100 55gr .223 reman (Just saves a few $ on shipping) Don't recall on the Ballistic tip, but it was awesome deal. My only complaint is that I wish they would load some hot, heavyweight .223 ala 68gr SMK or 77gr OTM. Vince |
