I got into a raffle drawing awhile back at work sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. $52 for a chance to win a gun a week for 52 weeks or take $400 cash and tonight was the first drawing and I FREAKING WON!!!

Getting a brand new Henry Repeating Arms Big Boy .44 mag

Each week is a different gun, and my name goes back into the pot so I have a chance to win again!! Holy Crap am I happy!!!

Gotta go down this weekend and fill out some paperwork at the local gun store and pick up my new rifle!!

I just hate the fact that Henry doesn't put a loading gate on even their real rifles... I understand not using one for the rimfire, but for real cartridges? Get rid of the stupid ass plunger.

Do any of the lever action 22s use a loading gate?

I've got a Henry 22 that has probably killed more rabbits, ground squirrels and other pests than any other gun I own.

I hate the plunger, and I hate the lack of a positive lock on it. Other than that, it's just about one of my favorite guns, despite not being taciticaloperatorninjaspecialforcestierone approved.

+1 If ammo can easily be found within 5 miles
+1 if the weapon can handle well in tight corners

The big boy is accurate and fun. It is not tough enough to take the abuse of cowboy action week after week, but for are excellent unless you want to beat on it like a rented mule.

We can deer hunt with them here in Indiana, so I might do that with it. As well as taking out a few coyotes on my uncles place from time to time, but other than that, I'll be killing paper with it.
