Which one to get?

first!

I was drooling at the rc crawlers at the Donner comp last month. But my wife frowned on dropping the coin on one. So which one should I get? I don't have time to "compete" with one, just want it for fawking around with. But I would definitley want something that isn't going to break every damn time I use it!

What you want is a ax-10 all most ready to run, you will still need to buy battery, charger, radio, and speed controler motor combo(novak sell 55turn combo for like $105) This kit you will have to put together, it takes about 2hours having never done it before. From there the sky is the limit. When I bought mine 2months ago I spent $550.00 I have only broken shocks in the rear. If you want to check it out pm your #

Budget around ~$650 after electronics, chargers, battery packs, radio, etc.

get an ax-10 they are the best for the money you are going to spend. ive had mine for 10 months and all i have broke so far is a cheap servo and i just broke the piece of the steering which probly cost $.50... also you could hook them up with rear steer

A good crawler is the Axial AX-10 ARTR
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXVCZ3&P=ML

There is also the DuraTrax 1/14 Cliff Climber RTR
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXURC1**&P=ML

And the Losi 1/18 Mini-Rock Crawler RTR
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVT7E...eature=related

This is my highly modified HPI Wheely King

You can't go wrong with the AX-10, can be competitive right out of the box and very strong, plus you can put a faster motor in it for speed and it will hold up to the abuse. For something a little less competitive but fun to do wheelies and just bash on the Wheely King. For all out competition costing a little more the Enroute Berg dual motor rig.

I bet you are too competitive to NOT compete if you get one! You'll find the time!

I'd recommend the Axial AX-10 complete package from The Crawler Store! Pretty good deal for the money.

why get what everyone else gets? once you see what a super can do, 2.2's are kinda wimpy. do a hustler super roller from tcs and just add electronics. if they still made them, i would do a tcs cfnn chassis, ohh wait, i did!

I agree, put some time and effort into it and build a Super.

2.2 axial/bergs are so 20 minutes ago... Why run 5" tall tires when you could be sportin 8"s

My super

That being said, I just jumped on the 2.2 bandwagon with an AX10...

Fun-for-the-money factor? My vote definitely goes to the wheelie king. If you shop around or watch ebay, you can get a smoking price and their fun as hell. They're affordable enough that a few friends can buy them, lock them, and have a spec class like jeepspeed of your own. Plus easily upgraded.

That being said, a few friends and I got really into it, eventually got tired of it, duct taped chainsaws to the top of two and had a battle royale, haven't had them back out since. As a matter of fact, before the rusty win I forgot I had one.

:edit: And way to capitalize on your newfound RC crawler fanbase Lance...

How do these pre-built AX-10's hold up? I bought a clod from a friend and I kept breaking it beyond my ability to fix it

My Nylints are indestructible...gay, yes, but plug and play.

I want another one, but not the maintenance.
