serious WATERPROOFING ??
serious, like not water resistant...ive got some landscaping in the backyard...a big koi pond with lots of volcanic rock and a 10 foot long stream with water falls which has some good crawling sections. its obviously all wet and if you take the wrong line and dump it, your RC truck is in about 3 feet deep... the pond...
anyone truely waterproofing there trucks for submersion? id love to wheel on this stream/waterfall, but as my truck sits right now it would instantly be ruined

theres a lot more going on here that you cant see from the camera angle and the plants covering obstacles/wheelling sections these in pics...but you get the idea and see the pond itself that could fry my truck if i took the wrong line and fell into the drink!

First off you can get a waterproof boat ESC.
Check out what the guys say here, http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...=waterproofing |

water mud sure it can be done
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() heck we run comps threw it all in the name of fun ![]() like grind said there boat speed controls lrp make a water proof one to.. for the most part there terrible ESC's the boat ones have no drag brake at all. the lrp reverse is just terrible.. your best bet is either sealed electronics box or balloons(what I use) keep a eye on the balloons if you go that route and double bag is your best bet. the RX and ESC is all you really need to worry about the servos for the most part are sealed up.. and batteries other then corrosion are not a issue.. keep in mind water and electronics dont really mix and at some point you will have a failure if you do any submarine time.. that is why cheaper electronics are a good idea in a water/mud bound truck |

The traxxas slash runs a waterproof speed control, steering servo(thats pretty strong,And the receiver is in a watertight box. If you check the bay their always
some up for grabs, and pretty cheap. I guess guys remove all the stock stuff for lipos? I have a slash and whenever I get done running it I take a hose to it and havent had a prob yet... |

condoms work better then balloons anyway.. you dont have to stretch them as much to get the electronics in there.. I still recommend double bagging
![]() I forgot about the traxxas ESC. I have it in my slash to and yeah it is water proof, another ESC I wouldnt use in a crawler though the reverse is fine for a slash but in a crawler it would piss me off.. |

sorry guys, baloons dont work the best cause when the ecs/servo/reciever heats up is sucks in moisture from even the smallest holes. i run 5 different boats 2 crawlers and no problems since i waterproofed them. the key is, silicone and 2 part epoxy the circuit board. its easy, just takes a bit of time . i did not do this vid ,but i use it for refference to do all my electronics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZt7B...D20A44&index=0
