SLASH buildup threads?
these things are DAMN fun stock and can take a good beating without worrying about them busting...i just got one...
it needs an original body and paint along with a wheel/tire combo...like a leduc monster energy drink sponsored or something or a ricky johnson redbull truck??? i might have those drivers names/teams messed up??? i already moved the shock mounting points around a bit and added some spring preload so i could haul ass on pavement. for less than $200 this truck creates some pretty big smiles! tomorrow we are gonna head to the town skate park and 'take it off some sweet jumps'!

I got way out of the high speed stuff ever since I owned my SavageX, which sucks to work on. But I'm actually interested in a Slash...anything electrical is cool, so sick of nitro. What's the different between the Slash and the other CORR model though?
They're fairly cheap, might pick one up some time soon. |

the other corr trucks are nitro AE and kyosho both have one now.. and traxxas also has the slayer all the nitro ones are 4wd to.. slash is 2wd
slash is probably one of the most fun fast trucks I have ever owned, fast enough out of the box to keep your interest, handles decent, and is a blast at a skate park.. I did manage to snap mine in half at the skate park but it was pretty stupid jump to try and clear.. ![]() only upgreades I will do to mine is some proline beadlocks and there switch tires tha should make handling allot better.. |

i love this thing! for $199 and a deans connector, holy shit! i already had a $50 girt cert from my Bday...
i only found 3 bodies for it...a hardline, a desert rat and the stock slash body is available in a clear...beadlocks are pretty easy, but the offset is a lot of backspacing...its already wide enough or any 2.2 wheel would work(like scorpion takeoffs).... some tires called 'switch' from proline look pretty good...i was hoping to find some drifting tires that would fit to do circles around the culdesac i live on, sideways!!

slashes are great. brushless even more fun. but much more expensive. i have broke every part on the thing except the front a-arms. i slowly replace it with AL parts.
just dont get the STRC rear shock tower. it was a shitty design, and broke w/in 5 min (not even jumping it) and they would not warantee it. and ya, skate ramps are bad.

im kinda leary of the aluminum thing, the delrin/plastic/whatever it is, stock stuff has a lot of give before being permanetly deformed or broke in half. the aluminum parts ive seen for RC are a pretty brittle grade and dont flex much before:
SNAP! ??

proline makes beadlocks for the slash with the right offset, and there pretty sweet only 6 screws to change the wheels.. I am running the wheels on my 2.2 scaler but as soon as the weather breaks I will be getting some for the slash to..
and it depends on the brushelss system you put in.. you could get a lower KV system and it wouldnt be much faster then stock but the motor would last alot longer.. the stock motors dont last as long as I would like.. |

I have seen his slash run. With paddles it throws 12-15ft rooster tails!! He has the castle sidewinder with the 4600kv. I don't remember what he has for a battery. I put the same thing in mine but it's not as fast. I need a better battery and tuning on the esc. It's out of control until you get the hang of it.

I have a brushless Slash that I am thinking about selling soon. These things are CRAZY fun. I have the slash with an EZrun 9T brushless setup on a 3 cell Lipo and it will reach speeds of about 60mph+ EASY!!!! I shredded the stock tires, so now I have some REVO tires on REVO rims. Those are holding up pretty darn well, AND they work like a WONDER in the dirt.

7-cell 5000mah NiMH from cheapbatterypacks.com
i'd go with the 4600kV motor though, the 5700 heats up pretty fast on the Slash...

My buddies and I have a few of these trucks, and we beat the snot out of them. We race them at the local track. Local hobby shop just got the new shipment in, and they had different painted shells on them. One was a Fabtech paint job, and the other was an Amsoil paint scheme. They look pretty cool in the factory paint jobs.
We are leaving ours stock, like the spec class racing to keep it interesting. Stephen

Ya what are the specs on this thing. I wanna make one for me and my pops. In a vid that I seen it looks like there using a wheelie king axle in the rear. If so Ive go the shit to make them, then I just need the specs on the electronics and motor and shit. I hella want to make one.

almost bought a slash, walked around the store with it for about half an hour. currently ive been really looking at a sc8 (AE 4wd nitro) and the HPI baja 5T. the baja 5t is nice because it runs off normal 2cyl mix but the bastard is HUGE. |
