making it shorter

well i have a problem guys i cant get my crawler down to 12.5 inches
i have moved all the links in as far as i can go and i still am at just a hair over 13 inches long from center of wheel to center of wheel
so haw do you guys do it ? cut the links? something i am missing

edit i have axial bent links all around and i have the stock chassis with the "y conector" upper link heres a lionk to it /forum/radio-controlled-cars/748417-crawler-done-urban-way.html

are you trying to go competition with it ? is that why your so concerned with the length of the truck ?

Why I build my own links--heck why I hand build all my rigs,lol..

Either you shorten up your links--or your belly... With the axial axles your stuck with the lower link locations (another reason I love my tlt stuff )

But as RockandnoRoll mentioned---unless you are going to comp---wouldn't worry about it...

are those axial links?? I know a stock axial was over a little bit but not a 1/2" thought it was like a 1/8" or something..

I had to grind down my links a little with the bent links to get under 12.5" but that was because I have longer rod ends. Maybe a little grinding on the links and shorter rod ends.

Move the axle end of the link inside the mount and see how short it is. If that does not work try making your own links out of delrin rod. You get the benefit of slippy delrin links and getting to make your own parts.

yes i am competing with it
and i got it down to size i just put the stock stright links back on the front
i will cut the bent links after this weekend

Look close you can see he has traxxis ends on links(and they are the long ones)you need to buy the short traxxis link ends and that will make it about 3/4 of inch shorter. Good luck
