Trying to do some research now on exactly how to do that.. I am not real sure I like the wheel wideners... Those may go first.

Ya--throw those wideners away,lol... I love watching the novice guys--when they show up all wide--ya kinda makes it harder to get thru the cones,lol. But thats ok I did the same thing when I first got into this game--came all knowing with a basher to my first comp and got flat out SCHOOLED

Start with a new belly pan and then start narrowing the cross supports.

I forget the exact material--but I just bought a cutting board(slickery plastic kind) and thats what I use for my belly's and use the same material for the cross supports... You will find its easier than it sounds once you dig into it...
