axial rtr crawler

thinking about buying the rtr from trail gear. i already know it has nothing on a comp buggy, but would i be wasting my money on this for just playing around in the back yard? would it be breaking all the time? i don't want to sink $600+ into an rc, so this seems like enough fun for a non-hardcore crawler. any input would be appreciated, especially firsthand experience with it.

I would get the ARTR and get the electronics you want. I got the RTR and there is nothing left of it but the shocks, axles and chassis. IMO the RTR's electronics suck!

Any thoughts on the venom creeper? Buddy told me about rc rock crawlers and went to a local store and saw the venom this morning. I'm going to check them out next week to see if I'm ready to spend any money.

I have saw the Venom Creeper at the last comp I went to and was not impressed at all, I would deffinetly go with AX10 ARTR over the creeper...

get a Mamba Max esc with a BEC then look into getting 3cell lipo batts and a good brushless motor... as for servos i would go with Hi tech.... good luck

Oh and if you want ALOT of good tech there is RCC and i personally go to sincityrcrc.com, but you may have a local club where you are as well

Thanks for the info. I'm going to a deal they have in Sac on Tue. night to check out this new craze. I've got a 1/4 acre field in my back yard so not sure if I want a rock crawler or some kind of buggy to run a little faster. Not that I have any money to spend right now.
