Dang Sean. Looks like it was a good thing that tree caught you.
What happened with the extinguisher ? Did one of you just catch the pin getting past it ? k.

The pin must have fallen out while I was trying to beat on the windshield with it. Yes it was uncomfortable being upside down, hung up on the HANS/Helmet, worrying about fuel leaks, and to add insult to injury the fire extinguisher discharged in my face when my co drivers foot hit it.
on a later stage, Mike Goodwin got a little loose in is open class and tagged the only tree next to a creek. Were that tree not there, I fear he would have been upside down in 2-3' of water.

Glad you guys were okay. I was the old guy in the Chevy that got you two back to camp. The sweep teams earned their keep that weekend. 8 recoveries total for the 3 teams. Only your roll over though.

![]() Your kindness was a big help to Christian and I. We spent the day yesterday pulling dents and replacing doors. Honestly, the car wasn't as bad as I feared. Broken suspension links in the drivers rear which were a quick fix. A little TIG welding of our aluminum front skid plate. We are rushing to get to North Nevada Rally 7/6. It's going to be tight.

Im glad your alright! I tell people all the time, rally takes a certain kind of crazy to be in. At least it wasn't a violent roll. I hope your car passes tech. I would love to see you out there next month!

Looks like this years rally will have a few changes. I think they are dropping one of the passes on the Harris Creek stage, while adding a stage from the Idaho City area to Centerville-about 6 miles of stage. Host hotel will be on the east side of town with good access to Hwy 21 and Idaho City. Not firm yet but trying to get the "banquet" in Idaho City closer to the camping etc.
Last weekend we went and set up some repeaters at different sites trying to get better radio comms. for some areas. Some are better, some are the same. Hard to get decent radio comms. in the mountains for all areas. Had an inch of snow on Harris Creek road and the pass-made for a real fun drive. Ken Block has nothing on me doing donuts on that road, LOL. I won't be doing sweep this year due to back surgery and old age; but will be there somewhere at a road crossing or radio point. |
