It would be a great series, if the schedule was not so fawked.
The first event, basically 3 weeks after the series is first launched, and 2WD prize money only released today. Obvious they don't care about teams that may build a car, only the teams that already have the car setup already And running an event two days before tech for Pikes Peak Hill Climb, yea, we sure can afford to risk the hill climb car so close to our biggest event of the year. Daft, just daft. Obviously geared to the big boys with big budgets, hope it is really successful, and the rest of us can fight for the scraps. Surest way to get into X-games though.

The Irwindale event seemed to get pretty good coverage if you were a fan on facebook, and saw highlights on Speed News or whatever its called. Poor Jimmy Keeney, endo'd a couple times after a bad landing on the jump. Lucky the family is in the body shop business so hopefully the car will race again.
Rumor has it the other two events planned before X-games are in jeopardy though. Hopefully the TV coverage is great.

Second amateur in 2 events to seriously screw up the jump, with costly consequences. Looks like in AWD you are going to need serious $$$ behind you, at least until we get a couple of generations of tube frame, composite body, style cars. Not much word about the Pikes Peak event.

yes the 'stands' were more than full......like full enough, that I told the people that I were with that you aren't going to catch me up there.
I was still trying to figure out the secret with the jump. Anyone clue me in? Got to hit the jump once a race?(moto?) It only seemed that way, it was clearly the fastest way around the track, but I don't theink that anyone hit it more than once a heat |
