Last I know of for sure was two weeks ago. Was told lots of side hills pushing into the trees in the paved portion, the water holes are drained (no ice dams).

Take note of the weather the next week or so. Wouldn't surprise me to see the melt on by Monday of next week. Gonna be a lot of water moving up there by the end of the weekend!

C'mon melt!!! I can't think of a better way to spend my first days back from school than on the 'con. Damn I miss NorCal . I know its supposed to get warm this weekend: summer is just around the corner...

Is your brother driving your scout to school?

It was warm today here in Cameron Park, hopefully we can be on the trail in a month!

haha....concur! It feels like it's the gold standard shot...that everyone can identify with now...so I feel obligated to take a photo every time in the snow.

That is one big tree!!

Went in Wentworth this weekend. Horrible conditions. Super slushy snow. Got stuck multiple times and finally broke a front DS CV at the Sluice. Limped out.

Good times though. Not many rigs.

anyone else hear this this? Pretty crazy at 8:30 in the morning, sounded like they dropped a bomb nearby:

The sound of a powerful explosion punctuated the calm over a wide area of the Sierra Nevada in Northern California about 8:30 a.m. today, the apparent result of an ongoing meteor shower left by the annual Earth fly-by of Comet Thatcher.

Wow we heard it when we were loading up to heading out from trail. We were wondering what that was.
Conditions were definitely slushy and ALOT of flowing water. We only made it to Wentworth. Honestly not one of my favorite conditions I experienced on trail but the weather was beautiful. Thanks to Stainless Steel Dave for coming to tow us home and all the locals and wheelers. I dont know all your Pirate ID's sorry but you know who you are.
Oh great job by the trail volunteers who put the silt flow
otraps up for the water ways and flow. Ninerscout owes some volunteer time in the future. Appreciate those who put the time in to make trails safe and in good condition.

Getting to went worth is easy, just tread lightly and keep the wheel spin down.

Notice the distinct lack of flowing water on Postpile?? Thanks to FOTR volunteers, that is a thing of the past.

Betsy, FOTR will be working on the Postpile section this summer. It would be awesome to see you and ninerscout again.
