A Iconic part of the rubicon. I will miss this great tree. The little sluice will never be the same.

How long before the tree huggers blame it on us "evil off-roaders"?

Question

We think that some one with some real skills should carve up some real nice benches with the wood to be set up above the sluice to last for several more years to come!???

Instead of making a bench or a plaque, what about having someone carve it into something iconic that would stand in the same place and be something we could all enjoy for years to come. something like the tree carving in garden valley park. but something that reflects the rubicon trail

I think Trout should weld up an exact replica, and it could double as a cell phone tree

We should cut it up and make a bunch of little wooden key chains out of it.

Then on those key chains, imprint a picture of the tree when it still stood with some wording...

Then sell them and use the proceeds to keep our access to the trail.

lol.

It's a shame we don't have the money to commission the most famous bronze sculpture artist in the world, who is right here in Auburn, CA....Douglas Van Howd.

If you've been to Cabelas...you know his work.

Thinking something similar to the dedications recently removed from the bathrooms that could be sold to support access. Could probably get photos laser-ed on pretty cheap in bulk. I need at least two.

Really sad. Glad I got to see it while it stood. I think anything that can be made out of the tree and sold for land use would be awesome!

Couple of aerial shots. Just for reference. She was a big, old beauty. Going to be missing some shade for sure.
