As much as I want to (passing through PP) I have no experience pulling a trailer on the trail.
Also I just fixed my frame (90.9%). Not sure If it would be up to the task of hauling a loaded trailer yet.

90.9%... that's pretty good and you avoided copyright infringement

I went out to watch the tree cutting today. I got to little sluice about 1:30 or so. When I got there, the tree had already been limbed and they were prepping to cut it at the base so it can be lifted out by the chopper. Here's a few pics. The big saws they said were 60"ers. Once it was cut nearly through, they cut a wedge out for a hinge so the tree will finish breaking off when the chopper lifts it up. Sad to see it cut, but it did smell great! Here's a few pics.

Wow. Thanks for the pics. So much bigger looking on the ground.

Sad to see it go, but mother nature is relentless and nothing lasts forever.

I don't know what's more impressive. The size of the tree or that saw.

Sure didn't seem that big when she was still standing.

Thank you all, for your efforts on this historic trail.
I'm going to be there in a month, after a nearly 10 year absence.

Yeah, it's definitely a biggun. Connor and I took a ride up there to see it one last time.

Was up there Saturday afternoon and saw the cutting. I talked to Don with the county as he walked out and understand the helicopter was down for Saturday, but they hoped to fly today. Since no pics up yet, I guess the copter still down.

I asssume someone will "count the rings" to see how old it is? It has not changed much in 90 years, so must be 500 years old.

I bet that tree was close to 2000 years old. Junipers are slow growers and that tree is HUGE!

from what I was told when we were out there saturday, they estimated the tree was around 1500 years old. The helicopter isn't set to be going in to pick up the bigger rounds til wednesday.

Brian grew up in Oregon....he'd only seen another juniper this big in Oregon. The current guesstimate by Brian is 1500 - 2000 years.

Jesus was making furniture, when that seed started growing, at 2000 years.

I guess some arborist from Yale are going to date it.

From my understanding, the helicopter is there for the big sluice project and they are hoping to have some extra time in Wednesday to head over to little sluice and help move some of the bigger pieces.
