Maps...what do you guys recommend?

Several of us are coming down in July to run the 'Con and I know there are several other trails in the area.

What maps would you recommend? Are the Forest Service maps any good and will they show entrances and exits of other trails?

I'm going to order the Elodrado National Forest map. Are there any topos that would be good for the Rubicon and surrounding areas?

TIA,

John

Re: Maps

Thanks Tom.

I had previously found the 2 topos and now need to find a way to get them printed on something larger than 8.5x14 inch paper. Probably send them off to Kinko's or something.

I also recommend William C. Teie's book, 4Wheeler's guide to the Rubicon Trail. Deer Valley Press.

I second a read through of that book... it's pretty informative if you've never been before... I've been plenty of times before and it was still an interesting read
