Thank you for your help with the Clean up

I will try and have the official clean up story done this week, but I wanted to thank everyone from FOTR, all the 4wd clubs, and individuals who really helped me alot with the planning and organizing of the projects that needed your help. You all know who you are, and I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated your hard work and efforts! Thanks!,

Hey Cruzila,
nice hats on those guys in the back of the photo?
Were they allowed to wear them in public?

not to sound like an ass, but how long do you realy think that'll last??i would think the weight of the the rigs would tear that concrete up real quik.

Considering how much concrete the crew used up:

and the size of rocks that are buried into the slab, I think it will last for years. More pictures in the General4x4 thread: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...hreadid=180745

Given the degree of planning and expertise that goes into most Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR) projects, I'm pretty confident.

Eventually, it will break up -- that's the nature of concrete in a high-traffic area, especially one at high altitude, with multiple melt/freeze cycles each year. This particular area is a relative low area that ends up muddy each spring and dusty each fall... so the concrete is certainly not slated to last a century, but it should mitigate erosion and prevent bypasses for the foreseeable future.

When and if you do see it begin to break down, post up here, and volunteer to pitch in on planning the project to repair it! FOTR is a loose-knit group of independents, clubs, and association members, and each project is planned based on the folks who volunteer for that time, with oversight by experienced tradespeople, as well as members of the Rubicon Oversight Committee (ROC). The diversity and degree of expertise that members of this group can bring to bear continues to amaze me!

there were two rocks in the center to the right that were fine on sat but sunday when we came back thru they were loose..i paid close attention to the slab because i heard a bit a complaining that it was too easy.i personaly think its a good idea but it sucks cause its not gonna last.

just my 2 cents

it was not meant to last forever when it it freezes it going to crack apart and its a temp fix to help stop errosion from the runoff
