Georgetown District Volunteer Day
Unfortunately I'll be in NYC for my godson's christening, but thought I would share this recent mail from the ranger station in Georgetown....
From: Jonathan B Jue To: jjue@fs.fed.us Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2004 9:46 AM Subject: Volunteer Trail Work Day Scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2004 To all, We plan to have a volunteer trail work day on February 7, 2004. The main project we plan to work on is the continuation of the 11E22 Trail reroute. The contract bridge work is not started yet, but we would like to complete the trail work, so there is no delay in opening the new trail that will reconnect Mace Mill to Darling Ridge for OHVs. Depending on the volunteer turn out, we may have some additional trail projects to work on. For the trail construction project, please bring boots with good traction and ankle support, a lunch and work gloves. If you have your own hardhat and eye protection, please bring. If you do not have those items, we do have loaners. We have a limited number of tools for the volunteers to borrow, but if you have your favorite pick, mattock, shovel, etc, you are welcome to bring that. We will be meeting at the Mace Mill Staging Area at 8:30 AM. We will have a short safety briefing. Before proceeding to the work site (s). If it is raining or snowing or the soil conditions are too wet, we will be postponing the workday to March 6, 2004. We plan to be out working until about 4:00 PM, but if you need to leave earlier, please feel free to stay as long as you like. We would appreciate an RSVP by February 4, 2004 if you plan to join us on February 7. We would like to be sure to bring enough tools and water. Please send me a reply email. You can also give me a call at (530) 333-5550. Please share this opportunity with your friends. We hope we can get a good turn out and have success in reconnecting the Mace Mill Loop Trail with the Darling Ridge Trails. Hope to see you there. If you are not signed up as a volunteer with the Georgetown Ranger District, please bring the appropriate volunteer agreements: For individuals, please use the 1800-7 form. For clubs and organizations, please use the attached FS-1800-8 form. Thank you, Jon Jue Georgetown Ranger District email: jjue@fs.fed.us telephone:

Where's Mace Mill, say relative to Meadowbrook? I'm an old time GDL and I don't recall the place.
Never mind . . . I found it.
