Conditions very bad for riding and I ride like a complete newb but none the less here is a little video showing current conditions of the trail.
Second Dam, Kiosk, gatekeeper and bowl.

Hey Desmond, missed this the first time around. Still haven't had it out yet, been enjoying some fair weather down south. Going to KOH this week, and about the time I get back there will have been sun on the Rubicon for a bit. I plan to take it out then and let you know how it goes!

I wasn't up, but passing on first hand info:

Traction was better this weekend than in a while, snow is compacting and we are starting to have longer days and some thaw cycles. There are also some bare spots and holes, especially past Ellis...big drifts and big holes!

Furthest track reported in to Soup Bowl.

Was kicking it around.

I'll feel out the wife and see if she's feeling up to it. She's had a busy week with the doctors.

On 2-27-16 we pushed about about .25 mile past Wentworth Springs CG. The snow is wet and soft...slow going.

We day ran to LS yesterday...same thing. Wet, soft, crappy traction, big holes, big drifts. Worst areas were just west of Ellis and Soup/Winter Camp.

Woke up to about four feet of fresh soft powder Sunday morning. Pushed snow from hot rock to plow line for about 8 hours Getting out was challenging to say the least. Go prepared.

That's making it look easy. It's not.

Most definitely not easy. Okay to be a bit more detailed.

Drift at end of first dam is soft and around 10 feet.

Travel between dams is drifted out in many areas and as of Sunday super soft. About 4 feet of fresh to push before you get down to established track.

Drift area at beginning of second dam is really starting to lean left down to the tree wells. Crawling and staying high right not really an option in the soft stuff.

Down hill off of second dam going down to kiosk is completely drifted in and unless you really know the area the road is completely unrecognizable.

Snow bridge after Kiosk can be traversed successfully if very careful but it has collapsed on a couple of rigs mine included.

First slab up to hot rock is doable if careful. I managed to crawl it on Friday but if you mess around at all and polish the snow it is all over, High speed passes or winches at that point.

As always travel this time of year is risky. We had a hell of a time coming out on Sunday and everyone in our group is very experienced and has good equipment. Be smart, go prepared for anything including staying extra nights if needed.
