But , thanks in advance.
Biting flies in the trees (Ellis) most of the day, gone at night.

Mosquitos everywhere in the evening and morning, bad for about an hour in the evening.

Low 80's during the day, low 50's at night.

Enjoy

Heading up next Wednesday with a few buddies. I have not seen any fire restrictions. Did I miss it or does it look like we may be able to have a campfire?

Thanks, Mark

I was told last weekend that fire restrictions went into effect that previous Wednesday. So fire permits in approved rings only. That's what I was told by a ranger so no guarantees on how accurate that info is

Oh well. I guess it will be propane fire pit. Not as good as the real thing, but better than a lantern on the fire pit LOL!

I am headed up Monday. I see fire restrictions in Tahoe National Forest but not in Eldorado National Forest. Looks like you can have fire anywhere until about halfway between Rubicon Springs and Cadillac hill. Be safe!

RawkPunk is correct...restrictions on the Tahoe but not on the Eldorado (yet). I talked to the District Ranger of the Pacific on Thursday last week and he expects restrictions to start "any time". Probably by this weekend an order will be issued for the middle of next week.

Came out the Tahoe side Sunday, was sunny at the top of cadillac about 1pm but had started snowing by the time we were airing up. We passed a couple of solo rigs on the trail before that including JKU with a trailer heading east at buck and a JKU on tons heading west at the springs.

Any word how much snow ended up sticking?

trail is in great condition 10-29-16

the puddles seem to be draining nicely.
i went from loon lake to buck island lake.
we did not cross the RIVER that was flowing because Buck island lake was flowing over the spillway.
totally doable i just didn't want to try since we were gonna head home anyways.
also NO snow at all

Thanks for the report. Was up today, snow from yesterday's storm was light and scattered, trail is clear.

Video taken last Saturday. Thanks to Angelo Parisi for the video. Was there yesterday, still spilling but not NEAR as much water...6 inches from the top of a 40" tire to make the crossing.

Trail is 90% clear of snow and quite passable, only gat a few inches overnight on Monday out of this storm.

Powder Days

Sunday 11/27/16:

Went in after the storm Saturday dropped around 12" of powder. Pure sugar powder with almost zero base. From plow line to Kiosk, no tracks and travel on the sled was fairly easy. From hot rock to bowl, I was working at it even on the sled.

Looks like it may warm up a bit and maybe a little more snow/rain Wednesday and Thursday. This should help the snow firm up a bit.

The snow's all gone, but it's still plenty cold...here's Walker Hill. Winch up the ice on the way in, and winch backward down the ice on the way out. Bowl was pretty special too. Supposed to snow tonight/tomorrow, yay!

At least the ice fills in the gaps between the rocks for a smoother ride
