REMINDER**Campfire permit**

Don't forget your permits. Not that I am the permit police but I'm sure the trail Nazis will be out in force. Print them online. Cheers!

You can also keep it on your phone. If that's easier for some. Stay safe

I got my permit, but where is the best place to pick up wood going from Gardnerville to Loon? I don't want to haul it from out of the area (coming from northern utah)

Forgive me, I've never been there before. If wood gathering is available and acceptable, I'll gather a bunch.

Thanks. I'll let mother nature fell the trees, I'll just clean up after her.

Think about it before you camp and pick up wood along the trail where you see it. The popular camping areas don't have a lot of wood nearby. Nice to have a small chainsaw too...lots of 10" stuff gets left on the ground 'cause it's too big to burn and too big to break.

quick question on the Fire Restrictions. Ive never been to the Rubicon but going next week and have my permit. Does this mean I can have a campfire in designated camping areas on the trail? Planning on staying at Buck Island and the Springs. Thanks in advance.

There are no developed campsites along the trail that would allow campfires. Loon lake CG and Rubicon Springs (private propery) are your only options for a campfire. I would confirm with the RS caretaker before having a campfire though.
