4-15-17.

Anyone going up in rigs, be extra careful on Ellis Creek bridge. Starting to melt back from railings and narrow in the middle. A collapse on either side could make for a long afternoon.

Little bit of fresh powder from the last storm but the base is starting to melt. Bushes and rocks starting to appear. Lots of "Creeking" out and deep tree wells. Still good snow coverage but you can see the pack changing. The bowl has a river running through it with deep drop offs.

I went solo into Airport on Friday afternoon and spent the night there. I heard you on the 805. Some patches of road showing with snow between 1-3 feet on average with a few deeper spots. Snow was wet but traction Wasn't bad. I didn't even bother airing down. Into the 20's overnight really crusted over the snow and traction improved. I never went past Airport.

I had the Chalet reserved Saturday night.

Yeap, Weather station reported 21 degrees as the low Friday night. Made for some crusty, hard snow Saturday morning but by mid day the Sled was finding the powder again

Any recent snow reports near Airport Flats? Plow line ? Tow rig parking? Still planning on a trip next week.

There is plenty of room for a tow rig/trailer or two at the plow line. The plow line is at the same spot as every year. Use your toyota to pull your tow rig into Airport flats and leave it there as a base camp.

As stated below, I never went past Airport flats but the snow from there to the plow line was never more than about 3 feet with a lot of asphalt patches showing. I imagine with the warm weather and little bit of rain, snow is melting fast.

Plow Line 4-27-17

The melt seems to be on. The pack is settling down but still plenty of snow.

Went in WWS through Airport Flat yesterday, we had a group of 4 and there was another group of 4 that all went through We all went out Loon Lake.

From the looks of it we were the first to break through, several downed trees and the trail is essentially a small river at several points. Anyway, WWS is passable now. Bring a chainsaw just in case there is more carnage. Lockers/winch required.
