FOTR Comments needed ASAP

Much of the "unofficial" leadership gathered and discussed the 2nd Draft plan by ESP. There was MUCH debate. Del has compiled a response to that from the discussion.

RTMP 2nd draft FOTR response

This is what will be sent to ESP and the county as the official response from FOTR. Before that, the input from the Friends is crucial. So, please go download it, read it and reply ASAP.

feel free to distribute this as far as you like.

Scott

Good job. The response represents my opinion EXACTLY. It paints a good picture of what FOTR and trail users have accomplished and will continue to accomplish. I know we have to be reasonable, and I really think this is just that.

I am worried that we don't have much in the way of leverage. Am I right?

yep. sorry about not noticing the bottom of your sig. I usually ignore those things. Anyways I made it to the meeting, for all I know we might have talked. Dont know. Interesting to see a comment section where the guy evades giving any direct answers. Especially about the TUA's. And no that was not me asking about them ,I let rob handle it as best as the ESP guy would let him.

i didn't make it to the meeting.. but i thank you guys for going and standing up to the ESP guy.. he is great at dodging the questions that need real answers. I noticed that in the prior meetings.. I think it also was weird that they pick the 19th when alot of guys would be possibly leaving for Moab..

Well I'm against the user fee idea, because it doesn't allow for us who are in the local area to receive any discount for multiple use.. Also if I volunteer for clean up projects can my time be aplied to the cost of the use permit?

just a general question to think about

Trail maintenance and work crews are exempt from the TUA for the duration of the job.
