From another thread...
We need to define a "Rubicon Standard Rig" to put specifics to our maintenance goals for the trail.
My goal for these maintenance efforts is to do as little as necessary (hey, this is a rustic trail that folks take to get away from civilization a bit) but as much as necessary to permit passage of an agreed-upon standard rig. Whether that is a stock SUV driven with years of experience, a mildly-modified trail rig on 35s, or a moon-buggy on 49s... the trick will be to set a standard and maintain only as much as is needed to minimize erosion and permit passage of that standard.
Exclusionism is not a good goal, but at some point, it may be a practical yardstick we can use to guide trail maintenance. Let's at least have the discussion and see if there is consensus amongst users.
Randii (edited to say STANDARD instead of MINIMUM)
