I keep on hearing these rumors of the the Forest Service blowing up the rocks in the sluice. We saw a Ranger and talked to him at Buck and he said there are NO intentions of blowing up the rocks, He said that is where all of us hot heads can blow off some steam.Glad to hear that from the source.
Field rangers are usually part time college guys/gals that are there for the summer. They make no decisions. The decisions are made by the upper level officers of the Forest.
That said, the County will make the call on Little Sluice. It is their road and their call, completely.
They were not enfocing it while I was there and ther were alot of people around the box so I am assumeing he did not say much to anyone but I did not see anyone beyond the red zone so that is a plus. There were a few rigs around buck too so I don't think there was much enfocement their either.
