Had CALSTAR reps come to our monthly club meeting. Almost our entire club signed up! Great program and almost a must have for anyone in our hobby!

100% agreed. We had a VERY large tree come down this past weekend due to the high winds. Thankfully no one was around! Just another reminder the reality of the dangers of our hobby and the sometimes forgotten reality of spending time in the great outdoors.

Money well spent!!!

I'm going to the Jeepers Jamboree in July and I'm looking to sign up for this service. To use the "FOTR" for the group discount it asks for the name of the group coordinator. Anyone know who it may be?

I just wanted to give a little clarity on Calstar's capabilities. As a paramedic I responded to a call at Prairie city ohv park where a person had a quad roll over and crush their chest. The person was having difficulty breathing and was barely hanging on. I called the base hospital to get permission to put a needle in their chest and decompress their pnumothorax. The pt was just outside of our parameters of our automatic protocols. After a detailed explanation the physician said wait and transport (20 min min). As I got this order Calstar landed. The first procedure they did was decompress the pt's chest. This probably saved the pts life. Calstar's RNs have a greater scope of practice than a paramedic. They dont have to ask "mother my I?". Just one more reason to sign up. I renewed my family this year. Be safe out there.

Thanks for the story......

They are true heroes. The Rubicon had 3 last year...and 1 this year that I know of....it happens. Don't ruin your life financially over 35 bucks a year.

I just saw this...no one ever answered you.

Reach and Calstar do NOT have reciprocal agreements, so in a word, no.

Calstar does have agreements with Reno Careflight and Enloe in Chico. Maybe others too, I'm not sure.

Renewed, and ready for action

Georgetown ambulance rides aren't cheap either for anyone thinking they can get down the mountain and ambulance it... just don't.

Get CalStar.

Got to agree with everyone that it's the best $$$ spent. Will be on trail next week with other seniors, and we all have Ham and CalStar. Good times.

Calstar

It never ceases to amaze me, that you wouldn't get this insurance, my health plan pays 80% of reasonable charges for air ambulance , if it's $30000 for the trip, that leaves 6k for me to pay, paying calstar $35 a year, ...it would take 171 years to even out just one trip in a calstar air ambulance . I gladly will renew every year!
