June 29th Work Day Meeting Place and Time
I propose that we meet at Ellis Creek @ 8:00am. There will be a group leaving the slabs at Loon Lake @ 7:00am.
There will be a sign up sheet at the check in table (my Bronco) at Ellis Creek. We will have a short introduction meeting and split up into 4 groups. Here are a list of some of the people you will be working with: Incident Command: Del Albright (jeepndel) FOTR Trail Boss & Pirate 4x4 Rubicon Trail Forum Moderator Mark Langford (Rubicrawler) Alpha Group: Area Supervisor- Brian Mix (Aggro) Runoff management, creek clearing Baker Group: Area Supervisor- Rusty Folena (twn44s) 1st Mud pit past small creek Charlie Goup: Area Supervisor- Todd Howe (Monkeyboy) Mud Pit at the bottom of Walker Hill Delta Group: Area Supervisor- Del Albright's Club Mud Pit 1/4 mile above Walker Rock Media Coordinator- Lance Clifford- Webmaster Pirate4x4.com (pending resolution of previous commitment) Photography and runner: Amanda Langford (RockGoddess) Gatekeeper Supes: Matt (Rockslut) and Joel (Scout Dude) We will be monitoring CB channel 14 and each Area Supervisor will be responsible for communications with the Command Center. Many of you have expressed interest or concerns with certian areas. Please plan to sign up for the area that is near and dear to your heart but be aware that we may have to move people around depending on actual manpower requirements at each area. Thanks for your enthusiasm and support of this work project! Remember, you're working to keep YOUR TRAIL OPEN! I can't thank you people enough

A little more info
For those of you arriving Friday night or Saturday morning and meeting at Loon:
Your meeting place will be on the slabs just above the parking area below the dam. Look for Monkeyboy (Todd) and Binderfan2002 (Steve) in a red XJ. They will organize the group run to Ellis Creek. Departure is 7:00am sharp! Traveling via the Gatekeeper, accross the granite bowl to Ellis Creek. This section of the trail can be difficult for stock rigs with open diffs. In the interest of time, please allow yourself to be assisted through if you are having trouble. We need to keep the group moving! EDIT: We have our first Gatekeeper volunteer! Rockslut (Matt) will be in charge of keeping the Gatekeeper moving. EDIT: Scout Dude (Joel) has stepped up and volunteered to work with Matt at the Gatekeeper. Thanks Joel! For those of us arriving Friday afternoon and camping at Ellis: Meet the group from Loon at Ellis at 8:00am. Area Supervisors: Brian, Rusty, Todd & Del's Team meet at 8:00 for a quick briefing before the general meeting. At check-in, you will be asked to sign up for one of the four work areas. If one area is full, please choose another. Work groups will depart Ellis Creek staging area in this order: Delta Group- Area Supe- Del's Club- Pit at the top of Walker Rock Charlie Group- Area Supe- Todd Howe- Pit at the bottom of Walker Hill Baker Group- Area Supe- Rusty Folena- Pit at Creek 1/4 mile before Walker Alpha Group- Area Supe- Brian Mix- Standing Water/Creek Clearing after Ellis. We will space the departure times as necessary. Plan of taking plenty of water and a lunch to your work area. Work crews may be asked to re-distribute their resources (manpower) to other arreas as the work day proceeds based upon the needs at each area. Please be patient and understanding if we ask you to deploy to another area ![]() If anyone has any questions, please feel free to call me at home to discuss (925) 634-7468. I'd be happy to hear from you ![]() I look forward to seeing each of you next weekend! Please wear your FOTR shirts (if you have one) for the work party. For those interested, our group will be camping at Ellis Saturday night and plan on having a Pot Luck dinner. You're welcome to join us. I have a small propane BBQ I'll share but we could use a couple more. Just bring meat and a side or whatever and plenty of It would be fun to sit and shoot the sh!t about the day's events.

Yep I will be down on the slab after the spillway.
Hopefully you will all be ready to stack rocks for me so I can get my stock XJ through the gate keeper on saturday morning. I'm not to sure when I will be rolling in on Friday night. I am going to try to slip out of work early. I figure I will show up some time between 8:30pm and 3:30 AM hahaha.

I will get them through the Gatekeeper stock or not. I will dead man my YJ to a tree and use the 10K lb winch to insure smooth passage Really shouldnt be a problem. I was up there this weekend and the Gatekeeper is fairly mild. |

Looks like my club will be camped at Airport flat not far from the Wentworth Springs way in. So I am now thinking that we'll go in that way and hit Ellis shortly before 8am. Anyone want to go in with us, just be at Airport a little around 7ish.

If people want to go in through Wentworth, Del's club is meeting at Airport Flat and will be going through Wentworth. You could meet up with them for the run. People can also hitch a ride in at Loon if they want. If you want a ride, post it in the Car Pool thread. Feel free to call me (925) 634-7568 if you need directions ![]() Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the info I was not planning on leaving that early, but will let you know if I change my mind. Monkeyboy, How early in the afternoon will you be leaving? Will you be going in to Ellis Creek that night or camping at Loon? I would like to go in to Ellis on Friday late afternoon or early evening. Would like to be at the trail head at about 4 or 5. I am thinking of leaving Disco Bay between 1 and 2. |

It's very Important that you sign in!
There will be 4 sign-in sheets at the check-in table. It's important the we get an accurate number of volunteers so we can tabulate the hours and submit them the the County and USFS. This is the kind of information that helps us in the fight to keep our beloved trail open.
Thanks!

Look for me Friday evening on the slab just after the spillway.
I'll have a big flourecent green sign taped on the side of my red cherokee. Circle up the the wagons and hang out. So who's gonna make sure I get up early on Saturday morning. I need some one to walk over to the tarp I'll be sleeping on and kick me out a bed
