Ribicon Closed??
Im trailering my 40 & a buddy's bronco down from Oregon for our first trip on the Rubicon. I found a calendar that stated the Tahoe side will be closed for maintenace the 19 - 25th of july. what the F#@k? All the planes are made for 20-24th, and time taken off work. can some one shed some light on this for me?

Assuming they're talking about July of 2002 and not last year.....
You'll be fine. Even if they close a section of trail at Tahoe there are other ways down to the Lake and they'll be marked. Just like last year. You won't miss any good stuff. Paul

Friends of the Rubicon have no plans to close the trail. Placer Co. and/or the feds may be doing some trail work with big machinery (that I don't know for sure) that might close a few chunks of the road. But there are NO closures you can't get around legally.
If there were, FOTR and this bulletin board would be the first to know. Del

We're going in on the 19th and out on the 22nd. The only closure I know about is the Jeepers Jamboree has there 50th annual run the next weekend and they "close" the trail on the 22nd to get ready.
You shouldn't have any problems. Look for us (EB and several scouts) and say Hi. We'll be on channel 14
