Rubicon 9/26-9/28

Does anybody have any plans to be there on those dates?

Neighbor and I are coming out from Utah. Our original party has bailed on us, and we've never done this trail.

Thanks!!!

Our dates are flexible a little too. Few beers around the camp at night. Can't drink like I use to. Might have a family friendly couple with us. Not sure on that though.

Through the Rubicon, or out to the Rubicon?

I know I should have no problems with my XJ on 31s. Hopefully my 260's won't break this time.

Lets not argue about whose done what with Dan it will just make his head swell. I am also not into fighting over a man. The important thing is getting to do the Con this year. I had to cancel last year and want to make it this time.

We'll be up on those same dates.

Heading in from Loon Lake Dam Friday morning.

Black XJ, blue CJ, and a few other rigs I'm not familiar with.

Hey guys,

My dad and I will be on the trail from thurs morning to sat.(9/25 -9/27) It's good to know someone else will be out there. The last time, we saw no other person the whole run!

I read the FAQ but I still have to ask, how do you cook dem tri-tips? (besides medium... ) Because MRE's are ok but tri-tip is great! Are grill's allowed or is it late enough in the year to get a fire permit or what?

Thanks for the advice. Say hi if you see us.

Fire permits are good for any propane appliance. Gas grill included.

I will be the one with TRNDRVR in a blue and balck CJ. I thought about going with MRE's but am not a fan of them. It would be nice to be able to still eat decent while on the trail.

They are free. You get a quick brief about fire safety, told how to check current restrictions, brief you on your responsibilities, etc and then they issue you the permit. It's about a 5 minute process. You can get one at any Forest Service, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Office, or Bureau of Land Management office in California. It doesn't have to be issued from the Forrest that you are visiting. Any one in California will due. ...there's one right there in Georgetown.
