Anyone Up For Tomorrow? (snow 'wheeling)

Is anyone planning on running up through Georgetown tomorrow 4/3? Looks like there is going to be a break in the storm. Anyone interested? Wondering what the snow level is at - anyone know?

If they went, hope they got out before the storm. Been snowing all day yesterday, will continue today and into tonight.

Just below, we got around 7" last night, snowed on and off all day with no accumulation today due to temps. I`m sure past stumpy it was accumulating all day.

If anyone does go up this way let me know, I want to take the quad out to play

How in the hell can you go up to loon with all the snow, isn't the rd that leads to loon covered in snow?

The road to Loon (which is technically Ice House Road) is plowed by SMUD to the chalet.

That being said, when I get to the plowline, I'll be unloading the snow cat from the hauler and heading in from there

I was in last weekend with Scott J in his cruiser, well set up on 42's...if you pick the right conditions, over the snow travel in a wheeled vehicle works quite well. There was maybe 8 to 10 feet fo snow then. All you have to do is stay on top of it!

Any pics of any encounters with deer up there? I love deer porn, specifically the ones with the huge racks, LOL.

Gotcha.

When the biggest fish in the pond gets stuck, unless we got a helicopter - it's back to basics. Definately looks like fun, and I'd be more than happy to pull my share with a shovel if I was treated to any on-top-of-snow time.

Looks like nice weather is going to mean yard/garden work on Friday for me.

Have fun up there, and hopefully it's not going to be 70*F every day so when I can go it's not a slush fest

Cool new pic...

Went up on Friday, went almost to Walker and then back over to the top of Postpile before we headed back out Loon. It was warm and beautiful, but the top of the snow was slushy. Bad consitions for wheeled vehicles.

About a foot of new from the last storm series when we dug down to look. Musta been windy during or right after the storm...lotsa wierd drifts and cool wind patterns...

I'll go back in after this series of storms and let ya know how it looks.

edit: the melt hasn't started yet, but water is starting to move under the snow. Lots of holes where water crosses the trail.
