I bring my youngins up all the time I’ve only had a problem once but we mostly camp at Ellis creek its normally mellow some spots can be party places just know if you’re in a popular crowded location your kids may be up late

Exactly - it's as family friendly as you make it.

Little Sluice probably not the best spot to camp with the family due to late night box runs other than that no issue.

How much of a freeway or fuster cluck does everyone think it will be up there on the trail this weekend especially with Fordyce being a no go past first crossing? I am debating heading out or I might just wait till the following weekend, either way I am stoked and hopefully we don't get to much snow today

I know this year is different than most, but last year I went up for the 4th and was surprised at how light the traffic was. I figure the economy has a lot to do with the low turn out. I'd be interested to hear other peoples thoughts.

Heading up mid Friday and coming back Sunday with 3 rigs in group. Last year it seemed like the box was kind of dead and not alot of ppl up there either, not like prior years.

Another factor beyond law enforcement, the economy, and weather, is what day the 4th falls on. Last year it was a Wednesday, the year before it was a Tuesday. Midweek holidays are much slower historically than weekend-adjacent holidays.
This year, with so much suppressed demand from folks who wanted to be on the trail already, but didn't because of the snow.... well, I expect that this year, with a Sa-Su-Mo spread and a lot of people who haven't hit the trail yet, it should be pretty darn crowded. With no travel likely to Tahoe, that's going to put even more demand on the resource. Tread Lightly! Randii |
