Would you please shoot me over a quote for 6 of the long travel bumps, and also if you could include in the quote the price for 6 cans for mounting the bumps, I would greatly appreciate it! Please breakdown the cost for them as well.
When using bumps like these... and obviously I am looking at the long travel bumps as opposed to the short travel... What do the different color parts do for the effect when installing into the bump?? I am assuming that they will allow me to adjust the compression value per pound applied, or something like that??
My biggest question is the durability of the bumps when a vehicle heavier than, well say, heavier than a tube buggy... How will these hold up, in both long term and short term, to a truck that weighs in at approximately 11,000 lbs, spread out over two steering Rockwell axles mounted in the rear, and another one mounted in the front. I am sure you are familiar with Stan Prueitt's Dodge T-Rex 6x6?? If you are, you know where the base of my build-up is coming from! If you are not familiar with Stan's truck... He based it off of the Original Chrysler/Dodge T-Rex concept truck that was out of Chrysler Research and Development in 1997, when it toured all of the biggest car shows!.. It is set up with dual rear axles that are either hooked together, or both receiving their power from the same Transfer-case that has dual rear outputs... The way I am going to be building this is to start with a '98 Ram Quad-cab and the frame from the front of the cab back. I will then build new framerails and attach them to the front of the truck's frame. I will put the three steering 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axles under the truck and hang them with custom made four-links for each axle and then the truck will be suspended with 18" travel front, and 16" travel ORI DP3 struts in the middle, and then for the rear axle, I have a 2:1, dual cantilever system combined with 10" coilovers. I am estimating the unsprung weight to be around 7,000 lbs. That should give you an idea of the weight I will be swinging around, and the suspension I have to spring the truck.
So the real question I have for you is if these bumps will be able to stand up to a hard hit that I can & will dish out to it??
