Raptor towing
Since you guys look like you already have alot of experience with Raptors, figured I'd ask you this question.
I know the towing capacity for the Raptor isn't that great due to the rear suspension setup. I've heard that this was improved for the 2011 models that can now tow 8k lbs. Do you know if this is just for the supercrew or the extended cab too? Are there any mods can be done that don't ruin the capability of the suspension, but still let you tow a bit more? How about the Deaver springs? I'd love to get a Raptor, but I'd like it to be able to tow my Jeep on a wheeling trip a few times a year. Just a Cherokee with bolt ons, so nothing super heavy with tons of steel welded to it and huge axles/tires. Thanks guys. |

Whats your set up weigh? Possibility of a weight distributing hitch? A custom long travel airbag setup may also be your solution..

I'm not too sure, I'd have to weigh the Jeep. Trailer would be a standard 16-18 foot steel trailer, dual axles, wooden deck.
Can't say I really have anywhere around here to use the Raptor to its full potential, so it'd be used for a lot of street driving. But I wouldn't want to kill the offroad ability if I happened to find a stretch of beach or dunes on a trip somewhere. I've just heard the towing capacity is only around 6k lbs, which I'd think the Jeep and trailer would be damn close to. |

I've wondered the same thing with my buggy. It is super light and doesn't even feel like anything is back there when being pulled by a regular truck. I know I would be under the 6k rating but still the wear on it going across a couple of states sometimes.
