Forklift score!

A contracted service rep told a local branch of a big seed company that they needed a new mast on this forklift. Seed company sent a new forklift to the branch and told them to take offers on this Toyota.

A little paint on the inside of the mast is scraped off from a roller having a worn bearing, but a new mast? Hells-to-tha-naw! New roller!

3 stage lift, starts and runs exceptionally well... all for the price of.....

$400

Next month.... lathe score!

Nice. I spent way too many hours on a Toyota lift. They are great dependable machines tho if they have been maintained.

You suck! Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

I've got a set of pallet forks for my Bobcat - work nicely. But there are those times that it just isn't enough capacity and/or height.

I paid about that for just the forks...

Holy shit, that's awesome. Something like that would sell for $6k+ around here, or at least that's what people would ask.

Way to go on the free lift (multi stage mast). Now you can get a shipping container and load it up.

I've almost hopped on the Toyotas at my local Home Depot to load pallets of Quick Crete when I couldn't get an employee to even acknowledge me. I figured that might get their attention.

Great score.

I paid $400 for a forklift once...a 1964 Hyster.

And then $1000 later it was useable.

It's a better machine than the CAT that the local trucking company left with me.

The lift that came with the shop was an actual Tow Motor. Pretty hefty lawn ornament.

Wow, Nice! I bought an old Caterpillar 422s several years ago for about that price and I thought I scored. That yota looks to be decent. I love having a forklift around

After seeing this, I realized the Home Depot uses the same one for loading the gravel bags. I asked the manager and he said the thing runs like a champ. This lift was beat up, dusty, and had plenty of wear. You should get years of service from it.....

Since we're talking about this...

If the brakes are anything like the bigger lifts, then you might have some problem if you use it enough to heat them up. Almost 6,000 hours on our "new" Toyota's (we got them mid-'09), and every 2 months like clockwork, it's in the shop for brakes.

Otherwise, I run it balls-to-the-wall for 8 hours a night and it runs great. It has half the power of the last 3 generation CAT's though, and has too many safety features and alarms for my taste...

I rarely ever touch the brakes. My shop is only 5000 sqft, so I don't have enough room to really get up to speed.

I like those tires. My slicks bring teh suck outside, even on gravel.
