Shop Tunes
I have a Denon CD player that I want to hook up as soon as I can find some cheap home speakers or some 6x9's. I'm also thinking about taking our surround sound system off the TV and installing it in the garage since the kids have messed with it so much it sounds like mud now. I have a mini-boom box that I'm using now but if you think about how much time we spend working on our junk tunes are a must.
Nothing better then hearing the black album in the back ground while gringing off spring perches. So wat you gat fool?

Speakers mounted right into the drywall, cant remember what they were called but they were meant for that. One in each corner and wired right into a mini system housed inside a cabinet. Ran a piece of wire rope up into the attic to improve on radio reception. Thing sounds pretty good and pounds alright. I can turn it up loud enough to drown out most of the grinding noise which the neighbours rather hear Country or AC/DC than shop noise.

In the garage now is an older high-end Sony reciever that I bought in high school that still makes almost any speaker sound good and an old shitty pair of floor speakers that my once owned cats pissed all over (hence why they are once-owned). My current 5 disc cd changer is about to be retired from the living room and moved to the garage as well. As for tunes, anything heavy, fortunately, my neighbors are really cool. While we are on the subject, does anybody know of any hard rock/metal bands that have no vocals and are good? I am having a really hard time finding some. |

I actually prefer TV in the shop over radio, but I sold the 32" TV last fall
![]() Right now I have an old stereo in the shop office that we just turn up real loud so it can be heard throughout the shop.

Onkyo receiver, Audio Alchemy CD player, Boston Acoustic bookshelf speakers. Prewired the walls and mounted the speakers up high in the corner. Also fed the TV into it so I can hear it wherever I am working.
In my last shop I had a 20 year old "boom box" that wouldn't stay tuned to a station. Never again!

I just ditched the boom box for the home system the other day. Reciever, 6 disc changer and some floor speakers. The suround system has taken over the house music duties.

Tell me about your program ? I need to start making up some mp3's. Unless you want to burn the ones you've got and I'll pay you for them.

Pioneer Amp and ancient 6 disc changer.
2 10" Cerwin Vega house speakers mounted at either end of the shop. I'm never in the house anyway.
